Get your playlist in
Where each streaming service's playlists come from, and the free tools that export them. Checked 20 October 2026.
Own the Set isn’t affiliated with, sponsored or endorsed by any of the services below. They’re independent, with their own terms, prices and privacy policies, so check them before you sign in. Own the Set earns nothing from these links.
Spotify
The quickest: no export needed. In the Spotify desktop app, open the playlist, click a track, press Cmd+A (Ctrl+A on Windows) to select every track, then drag them onto Own the Set. Copy and paste works too.
For many playlists at once, use Exportify, a free, open-source site that saves your Spotify playlists as CSV files. Its Export All button downloads every playlist as one zip: drop the zip into Own the Set and choose which playlists to import.
Apple Music
No other tool needed. In the Music app on a Mac, select the playlist, choose File > Library > Export Playlist, and drop the saved file into Own the Set.
YouTube Music, TIDAL, Deezer, SoundCloud and Amazon Music
Export the playlist as a CSV file with one of these, then drop the file in:
| Tool | What it does | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| TuneMyMusic | Reads a playlist from your streaming account and exports it to a CSV or text file. | A free trial covers up to 500 songs; its plans cover more. |
| Soundiiz | Exports a playlist as a CSV, text and other files. | A free plan, with paid plans for larger transfers; see its pricing. |
Both ask you to sign in to your streaming account to read the playlist.
DJ mixes and charts
Copy a tracklist, for example from 1001Tracklists, and paste it into Own the Set. Numbers, timestamps, record labels in square brackets and unidentified “ID - ID” tracks are cleaned up.
Any other list works the same way: one “Artist - Title” per line.
In the app
Import a playlist and Exportify zips and uploads in the docs go through it step by step.
What Own the Set reads
Only artist, title and, where the file has them, album, length and ISRC. The file stays on your computer; see the privacy page.
