own the set

Features

A plan for every track

One way to own each track, in a set order, in the right version and in DJ quality.

Each track gets one way to own it, tried in this order: your library, a CD you can re-rip, a track you’ve already bought, your record pool, a free download, an album bundle, a single purchase, then a second-hand CD. Tracks nobody sells are listed to look for, and the ones you set aside cost nothing.

A track in several playlists is planned once.

The right version

Extended and Original mixes beat radio edits. A remix, dub, VIP, acapella, instrumental, live version or DJ edit must match exactly, and a remix must be by the same remixer. With no version in its title, a track under 5 minutes counts as an edit, and a playlist track under 4.5 minutes is flagged as a likely radio edit. A radio edit is only offered when it’s the only version, and you’re asked first.

DJ quality

WAV, AIFF, FLAC, ALAC or MP3 320. MP3 256 or iTunes’ 256 kbps AAC when no WAV, AIFF, FLAC or MP3 320 download is on offer, and you can switch that off.

Your rules

Set the lengths, and switch 256 kbps purchases and second-hand CDs on or off, in Version Rules.

Version Rules: the shortest club version set to 5 minutes, the radio-edit length set to 4.5 minutes, and switches for radio edits, 256 kbps files and second-hand CDs.
